Obama in Lund - Yes We Can
STUDENTAFTON NEEDS YOU
Studentafton is a politically and religiously independent forum for speech and debate with the aim to honor freedom of speech. Studentafton (lit. “Student evening”) is the oldest forum of speech in Scandinavia and was founded by The Academic Society in Lund in 1905. Ever since the start well-known politicians, royals, scientists, musicians, authors and other people have visited Studentafton. A few of the highlights throughout the years are Jimi Hendrix, Rev. Jesse Jackson, Queen Silvia of Sweden, Pink Floyd, Bianca Jagger, Will Ferrell, Ray Charles, Dag Hammarskjöld, Diana Ross, Henry Kissinger, Ingmar Bergman, F.W. de Klerk, every Swedish prime minister since 1934 and many others.
Our dream would be to welcome President Obama to Studentafton during his visit in Sweden this September. The official invitations have been sent out and now we are calling out for your help. By using the hashtag #obamainlund, you can help us to spread the word so that we will all be able to hear Obama share his thoughts and contribute to the freedom of speech.
